Intro to Strength Training

You’ve likely heard the buzz – women over 40 should be strength training! And if you find that daunting, you are NOT alone. This workshop, facilitated by Nicole French, is designed to resolve confusion and inspire you to take the next step, from wherever you are starting out.

That buzz isn’t wrong – women over 40 are in a state of declining estrogen which is a necessary component to gaining and maintaining strength. But in your 20’s and 30’s there are plenty of other reasons to make friends with weights. Fear not if you hate the gym, as it doesn’t take much to get set up at home and there are many resources to support you in that process.

Join us for a combined discussion and demonstration where you’ll learn 4 SIMPLE and CRUCIAL movements to focus on, learn some strength training lingo, get numerous resources, and ask questions that are creating barriers to starting or continuing to get strong. Nicole may not be able to answer all of them, but she’s been lifting weights for 35 years with the support of some excellent coaches. And if she can’t answer YOUR question, she will hunt down the info you need.
